Business PhD Scholarships

There are several opportunities available for postgraduate students at the University of Sydney, in Australia, to receive business PhD scholarships. Scholarships are given to three groups: students from Australia, students from China, and other international students are offered separate PhD scholarships.

The Faculty of Economics and Business PhD Scholarships offers the Research Scholarship to full time students from Australia. Five of these scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in the Faculty of Economics and Business PhD Program. This business PhD scholarship for research can be as much as $25,000 and renewable for three years. Interested students can apply for the scholarship by submitting the APA/UPA application to the Research Office of the University of Sydney, or by obtaining an application specifically for this award.

International business students may be qualified for one of ten Faculty of Economics and Business International PhD Scholarships. These are $20,000 Research Scholarships that may be renewed for three years. Students are required to be enrolled in the Faculty of Economics and Business PhD Program to receive this business PhD scholarship.

Students from the Republic of China who will be earning a PhD degree from the Faculty of Economics and Business can apply for the Joint PhD Scholarship Program for Chinese Students. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition and other applicable fees; the China Scholarship Council (CSC) pays for living costs. Five of these business PhD scholarships for research are available to citizens of the Republic of China who are not presently employed or studying outside of China and who can score well on an English proficiency test. Scholars are obligated to go back to China when the research is complete.

Australian and international students applying for the business PhD scholarship must submit six hard copies of the application.
