Samsung Global Scholarship Program

One of the world's leading developers of information technology, Samsung Electronics, has created the Samsung Global Scholarship Program. The purpose of the scholarship program is to bring new, highly trained leaders to the Samsung team. The scholarship is offered to post graduates and undergraduates who are in their final year of school, and there are two work-study programs that the students can choose from. Recipients of the scholarship will study in one of two universities in Korea, and remain in Korea to work for Samsung after graduating.

Students can choose to study business at the Samsung Graduate School of Business at the Sungkyunkwan University, under the Samsung Global Scholarship Program, if they are interested in areas such as marketing and management. All tuition and associated fees will be paid for by Samsung, as well housing, and two round trip tickets to go back home. Students will receive a monthly stipend of $800 each month for the entire year of study and they will also get medical insurance.

The Samsung Global Scholarship Program also offers a two year engineering program for students who have majored in mathematics, physics, computer science, or engineering. The courses for engineering are taught at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Seoul National University. The benefits for this program are the same as those in the business program.

After completing one of the programs, students will have earned either an MBA Degree or a Master of Sciences Degree. A stipulation of the Samsung Global Scholarship Program is that after graduation, students must work in Korea, for Samsung, for two years. The graduates of the business school will also work in Russia for two years after working the two years in Korea. To learn more about the application process, contact Samsung Electronics.
